She is daughter to Mexican immigrants and oldest sister to 3 younger siblings. Emigdia worked for over 6 years at her local non-profit in a variety of roles servicing the community. The majority of her work was working directly with children in California licensed childcare facilities. Servicing families and representing the community was a life changing experience. Emigdia continues to service the community that raised her by providing mobile notary services and closing real estate transactions in the signers native language.

On her spare time she gardens, enjoys vegetarian foods, collects sneakers and shops local businesses with her dog Suhzy and longtime partner, Tony.
